While we provide support for many charities and community organizations throughout the year, the Bricker & Eckler Anniversary Gift was established to allow the firm and its attorneys to provide more meaningful, substantial support for projects that will have a lasting impact on our communities. Past Anniversary Gifts have supported projects in education, health and human services, arts and culture, civic, community development and conservation.
Anniversary Gift Guidelines – What We Seek in a Funding Opportunity
The Anniversary Gift is a single donation of up to $25,000 awarded each year to one or more charitable organizations. Any 501(c)3 verified charitable organization is welcome to apply for the Bricker & Eckler Anniversary Gift. We encourage organizations to review and consider the following guidelines when developing their proposal.
Commitment
We give preference to organizations and causes where our people already devote their time and resources. Often, attorneys and employees of Bricker & Eckler serve on the board or volunteer for the recipient organizations. Bricker personnel are enriched by these opportunities and the firm enjoys helping nonprofit organizations that share our passions and support missions we believe are important.
Geographic Focus
Bricker & Eckler proudly supports the communities in which we operate. The firm has offices in the Columbus, Cleveland and Cincinnati-Dayton markets, as well as a focus on Appalachia and southeastern Ohio, and we serve clients across the state. Organizations serving these areas, as well as statewide organizations, are encouraged to apply.
Community Impact and Mission
Our gift should help the organization meet a critical, ongoing community need that is central to the organization's mission. We look for programs, events and initiatives that will have a lasting impact on the community. It is important to note that the gift will not support general operating requests.
Evaluation
To evaluate proposals we consider questions such as:
- What is the potential impact of this request on the community?
- What is the time frame for the project?
- What naming opportunity exists?
- What opportunities exist for the firm to collaborate with an organization to make the project a success?
- Who are the existing or potential donors already supporting the initiative?
